Now for the round up of the SI Snooker Championship !! We had 35 people enter and lots of high ranked players.

Format was best of 5 in section play and if you look through results sheets attached there were many that went the full 3/2 !! All 7 sections had games that were close even if it stated 3/0 win some were down to the wire in every frame !! Highest break for the tournament went to Dale Shannon who nervously awaited the playing of the Final which was between Neil Whalley and Shannon Swain !! Neil had a chance to possibly better Dale's score twice but unfortunately jawed a ball when least wanted !!

One of those chances was in the final frame of his 4-0 win over Shannon , and Neil, when he jawed the last red ball with all the colours possible to take , gave a sly grin in the direction of Dale, who had just breathed a sigh of relief !! such was the camaraderie and good natured teasing in this tournament.

The quarterfinals game between Paul Lewis and Rob Redgrove went the full 7 !! Rob took an early lead and was looking to take 4-0 but Paul battled back and evened it up to 3 all !! It was game on in the last frame !! Both players were playing good safety but Paul's accuracy failed him when he least wanted it too and Rob could sense a win and the frame went to Rob Redgrove.

Kelly Pritchard battled in the last 16 with Ian Muir and took that 4-2 , likewise the last 16 games Dale Kwok/Dylan Engebretsen and Mike Thorpe/Dale Shannon. They were all great battles to watch!! Unfortunately Kelly had the score reversed on him by Shannon Swain in the Quarterfinal going down 2-4 but not without a fight !! Many of the games where someone didn't win a frame in no way reflected the true nature of the games as they were tough games where no one really gave quarter and it was just one mistake at a moment you really didn't want it that was the " make or break" of the frame! For those that came to view the games , thank you for following the etiquette advertised regarding cell phones and noise in general.
